Our Visit

We stopped at Amelies French Bakery on a weekday morning. The croissants were fresh and buttery with good flake. The macarons had the right balance of crisp shell and soft filling in several flavors. Coffee was well prepared and hot. The old bank building with its preserved vault makes a striking and pleasant place to sit.
Tables are spaced nicely and the room never felt pretentious. We lingered over a second coffee without pressure to move on. Everything we tried tasted fresh and carefully made. The combination of quality pastries, solid coffee, and the beautiful historic space makes it easy to return. It is the kind of spot that fits a relaxed morning or afternoon break.
